Indian Trail Elementary School Honored by Freedom Flag Foundation in Unique National Remembrance Initiative
Last school year, Sara Bohle’s fourth-grade class at Indian Trail Elementary was inspired by an article about the Freedom Flag on Scholastic News to explore more. This led them to contact the Freedom Flag Foundation and sparked a series of events that would see their school become the first in Indiana to receive a significant honor.
Responding positively, the Freedom Flag Foundation urged Indian Trail Elementary to formally apply to be a loan recipient and a participating school in their program. The program's aims are to educate students about Patriot Day, the Freedom Flag, and to provide a temporary home to the World Trade Center steel from Tower 1 for two years.
