FREEDOM FLAG & WORLD TRADE CENTER STEEL
at Indian Trail Elementary
Indian Trail Elementary School Honored by Freedom Flag Foundation in Unique National Remembrance Initiative
The fourth-grade class at Indian Trail Elementary was inspired by a Scholastic News article about the Freedom Flag to explore further. This led them to contact the Freedom Flag Foundation and sparked a series of events that would see their school become the first in Indiana to receive a significant honor.
Responding positively, the Freedom Flag Foundation urged Indian Trail Elementary to formally apply to be a loan recipient and a participating school in their program. The program's aims are to educate students about Patriot Day and the Freedom Flag and to provide a temporary home for the World Trade Center steel from Tower 1 for two years.
Ms. Sara Bohle's Fourth Grade Class
An article in Scholastic News sparked the interest of Ms. Sara Bohle's fourth-graders. They reached out to the Freedom Flag Foundation and applied in writing to be honored with the opportunity to participate in the program.
